Re: Let's get this forum rolling again

What I'm going to say will stir some people up here as they won't like it but sometimes the truth will set you free. To be blunt, I was around here back in the so called "Good Old Days". Some mods became power hungry bullies & pushed their weight around too much with bannings, threats ...

Re: Ottawa Needs A Name...

From what I read that wasn't why they went with the name but you can spin it any way you like using military references. It translates easier into French as Rouge et Noir so they went with that. Somehow that's supposed to be cool, I guess.

Re: Ritch Dowry aka 3rd Down Passes away

I sure miss Ritch as he was the #1 character on any board I've ever been on. You always knew when he hit the Bombay by his posts. He could be feisty one night & funny the next. He loved his Lions & the CFL. Terrible justice system we have. Disgusting.

Salary cap should be double but let's face it, as long as the Argos drag the rest of the league down attendance wise, it won't happen.

While the guy is showing he can still play, I'm glad he's a Ti Cat & not a Stampeder anymore. There's not a lot of "We Miss Hank" talk coming from Stamps fans here in Calgary even though we are struggling. Hank's huge knock is that he has monster regular seasons but chokes in the playo...

If the Argos can consistently put a winner on the field over the next decade like Montreal, BC & Calgary, the fans will come back. There hasn't been much to cheer about as an Argo fan recently.

Re:

For me, the 1972 Grey Cup with the infamous Leon McQuay fumble around the 5 yard line which would secure the cup for my Stamps for the first time in my lifetime (and for a long time thereafter). Keeling, Harris, Linterman — good times. My only memory before that is of the opening theme and visuals ...

I take it Argonaut11xx is not a Ricky ray fan. Maybe he'd rather have Cleo Lemon as the Argo qb again. Chet was such a great qb... ;)

None. Football fans & hockey fans are totally different. Plus, the management team with the Stamps remains intact. I think you're jmping to conclusions here.

Re:

What would a pre-season game in Toronto draw? 2011 - 12,851 2010 - 12,514 2009 - 18,241 Not exactly numbers that show any sort of reason to keep it in the evening. Might as well turn it into an event with a lot of energetic kids to cheer, scream, yell, holler, jump up and down, and buy popcorn. And...

Well, the stadium may have been delayed because of construction but at least it is getting built. Will be quite the place when finished.

Re: nutball crazy argos to be playing a noon game on a Tuesd

I agree with ping on this. Treat your fanbase with respect first. They bought season tickets & not high school or elementary kids.
